I didn’t post for a while, but now I’m back. I’m finishing the docs and files to start submitting one of the shorter comics to publishers. It’s way past time I was planning to have these materials done, but it is what it is.
One of the publishers with open submissions requires 6 sequential pages, so I have one more to make than I planned. Another has switched their submissions to only considering completed comics which sadly I don’t have yet. Let’s hope someone picks up the comic, and if not, I’ll figure out if I want to self publish it or invest my savings in publishing another story of mine. At times like these I really wish Kickstarter was available for my country. Or at least those printers that don’t require you to order 500+ copies.
There’s another short comic I’m excited to work on with a friend. Even though it will pose a challenge as there are some characters and scenes I’ve never drawn before. But I can’t talk about it yet.
As for Blood Bound, first 3 episodes of Book 3 are up on Webtoon. I’m still debating if I want to publish the full pages on the website or collect and maybe publish them as an issue. Would it be too weird to print book 3 before book 1? I feel like there’s a lot to be improved in book 1 and 2, and with book 3 I’m finally happy with the art. I know I have a long way to go still, and that’s something I continue to working on daily.
In the meantime, I’m planning to draw, enjoy October, fallen leaves, hot tea in my cup, and books.
